Upconverter/Downconverter

*NEW* Baseband Converter brochure

Sage Laboratories produces a wide range of narrowband and broadband upconverters and downconverters for EW applications. These converters utilize Sage's mixers integrated with other necessary functional blocks such as limiters, filters, switches and amplifiers. These units are usually custom designed to a specific customer requirement.

An example of a specification for a narrowband downconverter assembly utilizing image rejection mixers for use in airborne radar receivers is:

Sample specification parameters:
Frequency Range 10% BW in X-Band
IF 55 - 65 MHz
Gain, RF to IF 40 dB
Amplitude Match 0.3 dB
Phase Match ±4 °
Noise Figure 3.5 dB maximum
Dynamic Range 70 dB
Output 1 dB Compression Point 15 dBm
Switching Speed 20 ns
Isolation 60 dB
LO Input Powe 5 to 8 dBm
